Refreshing beverage partner
As is well known, the Aare has its source in the Bernese Oberland and flows through a beautiful area into Lake Biel. The beer that guests on the Attila will drink on Lake Biel also comes from the Oberland. The traditional brewery Rugenbräu is a partner of the Attila Boutique Boatel with its beer of the same name and distillates from the Rugen Distillery. The anticipation is huge, as Managing Director Remo Kobluk emphasizes in an interview.
Remo Kobluk, are you a boat and cruise fan?
I have a great affinity for shipping and I am already a fan of the MS Attila. I really like the boutique concept. I generally like the element of water and enjoy being on and in the water. Under water too, but only to go diving.
When you were first approached about the Attila Boutique Boatel, what were your spontaneous thoughts?
A great project! Something that is a novelty in Switzerland. Turning a remnant of the Expo into such an offer requires innovative strength.
What were the reasons for becoming a partner in this project?
The offer provides a true experience in a particularly beautiful region. It is an opportunity for the Rugenbräu brand to work as a partner on the Attila and offer guests enjoyment on board. I was immediately impressed by the project team, and I had already worked well with some of them beforehand, which encouraged me to get involved.
I really enjoy being in this area and feel at home here. Although I know the region well, I'm looking forward to rediscovering it from a different perspective via the Attila.
What does the partnership between Rugenbräu and Attila look like?
We are proud to be there as a beverage partner. First and foremost, we are represented with our beer and the distillates of the Rugen Distillery. This means that the Bernese Oberland, where the Aare originates, is also on board. The Aare flows into Lake Biel, along the southern foot of the Jura - a beautiful symbiosis with the Attila.
Is there a special Attila beer?
Not that, but we have had special glasses made that combine the boutique concept and the beer from the Oberland wonderfully.
What was special about this project was that we had to adapt our facilities to the Attila: For example, installing the beer tap to match the size and proportions of the Captains Lounge was an exciting challenge.
Could you briefly introduce us to Rugenbräu?
Rugenbräu AG is a traditional brewery with over 150 years of history and is still family-run today. A dynamic team applies its knowledge of the brewing craft every day to produce classic beers as well as specialties. We also have the Rugen Distillery, where our three gins as well as the "Swiss Mountain Single Malt Whisky" and the "Fleur de Bière" are produced. In short: by connoisseurs for connoisseurs.
Do you have a personal connection to the 3-Lakes Region or are you looking forward to getting to know it better?
I have a strong personal connection to the region. I really enjoy being in this area and feel at home here. Although I know the region well, I'm looking forward to rediscovering it from a different perspective via the Attila.
The Attila also offers attractive offers for companies, have you already planned something with your management or your employees?
I can't reveal that here yet 😊
And the cruise is already booked?
Of course - anticipation is the greatest joy!
What are you particularly looking forward to when you think of the Attila?
To the day in May 2021 when the MS Attila sets sail. And to guests being able to spend a wonderful moment enjoying a whisky or a Swiss Crystal Gin - with a view over the lakes.
