Since 1964, the construction of the A5 highway has led to the ambitious and pioneering implementation of preventive archaeology in Switzerland. The corresponding research programs have made it possible to scientifically identify and document countless inhabited zones on the rivers of Lake Neuchâtel. The "Laténium - Parc et Musée d'archéologie de Neuchâtel", opened in 2001, bears the name of the La Tène site and preserves more than a demi-million objects from the region .... 3000 selected objects are now on permanent display. An international museum that sheds light on the ancient cultures and peoples of the Trois-Lacs region.
